What is Prufa?
Prufa is Icelandic for test. Notes in, quiz out.
How it works
Add what you are studying. Notes, a PDF, a photo of a page, a lecture recording or a YouTube link.
Prufa writes the questions. On the ideas in it — and flashcards for its terms, if you want them.
What you miss comes back. Spaced out over the next few days, until it sticks.
What it does differently
- It asks about the idea, not the page. Every question makes sense with your notes put away.
- It says when it doesn’t know. Ask for a topic it has nothing reliable on and it tells you, rather than quizzing you on guesses.
- It teaches what you miss. Get one wrong and it explains the idea, then asks again another way.
Where your work is kept
In your browser. Premium accounts can keep it on their account too, so it is there on every device. The privacy policy has the details.
Prufa is built by one student, so feedback reaches a person, not a queue.
