Terms of service

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you are under 18, you may use Prufa only with a parent’s or guardian’s permission, and they agree to these terms on your behalf.

Give accurate details when you sign up, keep your password to yourself, and use your account alone. You are responsible for what happens under it. If you think someone else has got in, use “Sign out everywhere” on your profile and email prufaapi@gmail.com.

Free accounts can make up to 5 quizzes a day from text, PDFs, documents and images. Premium lifts that cap and adds video, audio and YouTube. Premium is free: an admin grants it at their discretion, and nothing is ever charged. We may change what each plan includes, its limits, or whether premium is offered, and we may remove premium from an account that misuses it.

You own the material you add and the quizzes made from it. You give us permission to process that material, and to send it to the service providers named in the privacy policy, only as needed to provide Prufa to you. Only add material you have the right to use, and don’t add other people’s personal information that the quiz doesn’t need.

Your quizzes and library are stored in your browser, not on our servers, so we can’t recover them if your browser’s data is cleared. Export a backup from Settings if they matter to you.

Questions, answers, explanations, flashcards and marking are written by AI models. They can be wrong, incomplete or out of date, even when they sound certain. Check anything important against your course materials. Prufa is a study aid, not professional, medical, legal or financial advice, and it makes no promise about your grades or exam results.

You are responsible for following your school’s academic integrity rules. Don’t use Prufa where your instructor has not allowed it.

Don’t use Prufa to:

• break the law, or upload anything illegal to possess or share;
• infringe anyone’s copyright or other rights;
• harass, threaten or exploit anyone, or upload sexual content involving minors;
• get around plan limits or rate limits, for example with several accounts or automated requests;
• probe, overload or break into the service or its providers, or access accounts or data that aren’t yours;
• resell access to Prufa or use it to build a competing service.

If you believe something on Prufa infringes your copyright, email prufaapi@gmail.com with: the work you own, where the infringing material is, your contact details, a statement that you believe in good faith the use isn’t authorised, and a statement, under penalty of perjury, that your notice is accurate and that you own the right or may act for its owner. We’ll respond promptly, and we close the accounts of repeat infringers.

You can stop using Prufa at any time, and ask us to delete your account by emailing prufaapi@gmail.com. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts the service or other people at risk, and we may change or discontinue Prufa. Where we reasonably can, we’ll give notice first.

Prufa is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied. That includes warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. We don’t promise it will always be available, error-free or secure.

To the fullest extent the law allows, Prufa and the people who run it are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages. That includes lost data, lost grades or lost opportunities arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim about Prufa is limited to $50. Some places don’t allow some of these limits, so they may not all apply to you.

If these terms change, we’ll update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we’ll also tell signed-in users in the app before it takes effect. If you keep using Prufa after a change takes effect, you accept the new terms.
